PresentationA custom-built course, "created from scratch." It was the first course I taught at Concordia and it hadn't been taught before. I built it around the notion that it would in effect cover diverse anthropological dimensions of music, regardless of traditional connections with ethnomusicology as a discipline. The course has changed significantly through the three semesters that I have been able to teach it. Teaching Format- Extensive seminar-style discussions
- Some in-class lecturing
- Limited online participation (Moodle)
ReadingsCustomized coursepack. Main Assignment TypeSemester-long individual project in three parts based on the anthropological study of a musical phenomenon. |
